Glen Eagle's tag line is, "A touch of Scotland" and it delivers on that. With rolling hills and wetlands sprinkled throughout, the only thing that makes you realize you're playing in Utah is the mountains. This course can be quite difficult if you aren't on (it can be difficult when you are on as well), those wetlands are easy to come by if you aren't hitting it straight and the narrow fairways can punish you for a shot that it even a few yards off line. With that being said, I love this course. It is in fantastic shape, the greens are in great condition (people are much better at fixing their pitch marks here than other courses around). What draws me to this course is the challenge it presents, you need to be accurate as well as smart with your play, you can't just grab a driver and hit the hell out of it. It requires you to think and I really enjoy that about the course. I would definitely recommend playing this one (maybe grab a couple extra balls in case you find those wetlands).
Gorgeous morning for some golf.
The beer I had was Talisman Brewing Company's Iron Age Oatmeal Stout. With it being a 7:20 tee time I figured an oatmeal stout was appropriate for breakfast. This was a great beer. It is a stout so if you don't like dark, this is not for you. But if you usually don't like dark this may be a good one to try out. It has a slight hint of coffee and chocolate with a nutty finish. The oatmeal also helps create an extremely smooth beer and it delivers on that. This is on the heavier side so I don't think it would be one to have in the heat of the day, but for this morning round, it was perfect.
Both of these are coming in strong with Eagles.
The beer i had was a raspberry wheat from Wasatch Brewery.
Being 7ish in the morning I wanted something that would be sweet and breakfast like. Wasatch never disappoints. Great tasting, smooth finish, absolutely not bitter. I'd drink this at 7am again in a heartbeat.

TJ: I'm going to preface this review by saying this, Glen Eagle has always had my number. I've never had a great score here. Shoot i've never had a good round here. I've been quacked at mid-swing, and then hit a 75 foot putt on the same hole. "Glen Eagle giveth, and Glen Eagle taketh away." should be there actual tagline. I also have a problem with their pricing structure. It was the most expensive course we've played all year. The course is nice, i just don't know if it is as nice as they charge.
With this course if you are not in the fairway, you're in trouble. Most times being off the fairway meant that your ball was going to be above or below your feet and sometimes in an awkward stance. Bring your A game, stop trying to hit it like Dustin Johnson and exhibit some course management and you should be just fine.
One thing i do really like about this course is the shape it is in. Absolutely phenomenal greens and tee boxes. The sand was nice, I know because i went from one green-side bunker right into another, A course we reviewed earlier in the year could learn a lot from Glen Eagle. This is a great links course, even if it does consistently kick my butt.
